iPhone post!!!!

Here's a picture of my cat... From my iPhone!!!

Posted via LiveJournal.app.

Edit on a real computer since apparently the app dosn't support editing.... Why does the GPS post an exact location if it's not accurate? It didn't even ask me, it just assumed it knew... I don't even know where Roxton Ave is.. but I'll leave it up there just for fun.

Catch up...

Too much effort to actually compose a post on LJ... I mostly use LJ as an RSS reader for Slice of SciFi and ANN news these days... When I wish to share my life with the world I use Twitter or occasionally Facebook.
Been meaning to do an LJ post forever... but I know now that paragraphs are not in my power anymore...
I'll spare your friend's page )

Win.

I dunno how many of you watch Eureka, but S.A.R.A.H., the Smart House, is made of win.

Edit:

I guess I wasn't the only person thinking NBC needed more than one AI on twitter.

Star Trek 20 Questions

Star Trek 20Q is coming out in 2009, but playing it now online will help make the final product smarter!

AX and stuff

Bah. Finally off work. I turned off my alarm because I don't have to be at the convention center until noon... then I work up an hour earlier than I do for work. Can't get back to sleep.

My keyboard batteries are dying so please excuse me if I miss a letter somewhere.

Saturday I won a Wii in the raffel at my company's Family BBQ. Sweet! Now I need to spend hundreds of dollars to properly accesorize my free new toy.

I haven't put much thought into plans for AX this year. Haven't taken a good look at the panels.
Shopping list-wise...
Probably lots of anime
Something Macross F (Ranka!!!)
I wonder if people still have Mokona plushies...
Maybe a few more gashapon figures to display on shelves that I don't have.

Time to see if I can get a little nap before I need to function....

Cosplay help needed.

So... This year I am attempting to actually have a costume that isn't fuzzy.

[info]shortyneisius and I will be Alicia and Akari from Aria the Animation.

I'll be the pink haired one, she'll be the blond one.
If she has time, I'll be commisioning a friend to make me an Aria plushe. Aria is the cat-ish creature in Alicia's arms.

Progress )

But I need advice from my cosplay buddies )

I also need to work on an oar I'm thinking of making it out of a thin PVC pipe and foam.. but plans can certainly change. Not sure if it's been formally announced anywhere but wooden paddles are banned at AX this year so I'll have to look into cardboard or foam or something.

Introducing...

Ok... most experts reccommend that you don't rush out and get a new cat to replace one that you have lost.... but many people also agree that you should not turn your back on fate.

Trillian was found by one of my co-workers. Her father-in-law said if she kept her then he would put one of her other 5 cats to sleep. This, of course, could not be let happen. The poor baby needed a loving home and we needed a loving cat.

The down side is... she was found with an injured leg and needs to be taken to the vet once a week to make sure she doesn't out grow her bandages.

I'll just link to my LJ image gallery to show you all the pics we've snapped so far. The first bunch are from my phone and the rest are from my mom's camera.
( Trillian's Gallery )

BTW... my parents have been away on a cruise all week... They had quite a surprise when they returned ^^;

Because of her 3 good legs, we have named her after the Hitchhiker's Guide "trilogy". Speaking of which, I'm hoping to have a towel day gathering. Haven't solidified any details yet.

Mike will be down next weekend to vist. ^.^ It'll be quite a weekend. AX Staff BBQ, Towel Day, hopefully going to see Indiana Jones.

Join the Fight!

You can take the quiz up to 25 times... There are more questions than fit in just one quiz... but they will repeat some anyway.

My results:
1)
Join the Fight and take the Battlestar Galactica Personality Quiz! jointhefight.scifi.com

2)
Join the Fight and take the Battlestar Galactica Personality Quiz! jointhefight.scifi.com

I'm not going to take it 25 times but I still haven't gotten a repeat result )

Dr. (Merlin) Claw... Baran..... aka Kitty
Spring 1999 - May 3, 2008 9:30pm-ish

Here he is in an oxygen tank at the emergency vet this afternoon. The tank was in an employees only area so the guy at the front desk had to take this for me. ;_;

=( boooo-toooof!

Bah. My cell phone is very sad and un-accessorized. Saturday I ripped my screen cleaner/cell phone strap off it while pulling it out of my pocket. On Sunday I broke my bluetooth headset by plugging it in the wrong way. What kind of lame company makes a plug that can fry your hardware the moment you plug it in backwards!? ... and then makes it easy enough for every idiot to do it >_> rawrs.

Lemme tell you about me and my stupid headset )

On a positive note... I won this (Cardcaptors: The Board Game) on Thursday and it arrived today. Yays! On the down side of that... I was looking for a legit copy of these.... (Set of Clow Cards) I think the auction I was looking at before was up to $160 when it was closing.... this one has a few more days... I'm sure it will be going up X_x

Partyyyyyyyyyyy!

Next Sunday, March 30, I will be having a birthday party. It will be in the afternoon since many of guests still have work that day.

There will be a a moon bounce.
This one.
There may also be a pinata, not sure what I'll fill it with yet.

I must invite as many people as possible as to make my money worth it.
You are all invited.

We will provide hamburgers, hot dogs, onion dip, cake and ice cream. Guests are invited to bring anything else to share.

If you need my address, just ask and I can provide it. RSVP'ing is strongly advised.

Conventions and other stuff too...

Yesterday I want to an AX Staff meeting and LA Convention Center walkthrough. Wizard World was the only convention using the LACC at the moment. They're very tiny, which is understandable since they are a just a traveling convetion geared at the local crowd. We also acquired a few passes so we could check out their con. Roddenberry.com was there, so I got one of these along with some freebies. If I could have stayed all night I could have gone to the Summer Glau panel. That would have been cool, but oh well.

I spent the later half of my day celebrating a friend from work's b-day at Mulligan's It was very cold, but fun.

My grandma decided to clean my room a bit while I was out... She probably threw out or cleaned up a few things that I will never see again... on the plus side... I finally found my playstation to USB adaptor that I'd been looking for for about 2 weeks.

I have come to notice that the frequency of posts of many people on my friend's list, including myself, has greately decreased in the last year or so... I think it would be much easier for all of us if we did not have the pressure of being expected to post quality content. This is why I suggest that you should all give Twitter a try. No more pressure of actually posting paragraphs because your post has a 140 charater limit. Here's mine.

And the world keeps turning...

Last Sunday my great uncle died. We would have been celebrating his 103rd birthday next week. The thing is.. he didn't die of old age like one would expect for an old person.

musings )

I didn't really like the solemn music played during the funeral. When I die I want upbeat music played. Everyone that attends must wear a silly hat and I want my remains to be in one of these.

ps. Happy Pi Day

Hey look a distraction!

Been meaning to make a real post for a while... with pictures and stuff.. but too lazy...
Went to Star Trek: The Tour last month. Someone is getting very rich off of that. I will post pictures someday...

Anyway... I'm not really here to post content.

1) After watching this entier video, I was brainwashed into downloadingMacross F. I love Lanka so much. She's so cute and has a great voice.
Deculture is the Zentradi word for unbelievable.

2) Did I miss a memo somewhere? I thought we were losing planets, not gaining them.

3)Picked up a few volumes of the Mai HiME manga at my local Book-Off. It's very different from the anime but still very fun.

4) Extended Iron Man Trailer Another Marvel movie just in time for Free Comic Book Day as usual~

Things to do this weekend
-Start taxes.
-Clean room.
-Something or another AX related....

The mis-adventures of....

So.. uhhh... in the coolest move since they made those giant Kiki Kitty plushies, Gaia is going to "invade" The Price is Right!! Next Tuesday Gaia is gathering a group to go be in the audiance. For some reason, they only have 25 tickets for their group... I wonder if that's the limit on your group size for the show... anyway.. even if you don't get one of their 25 tickets... there is usually tickets available the day of...
My sister doesn't have an account on Gaia, but she loves The Price is Right, so she says she'll go with me. Still deciding if I actually want to skip work to go...

Also... placed a $100 order at RightStuf today... thinking of maybe placing another $50 order before the sale is over... Blah X_x I should stop wasting my money on such silly things

Thoughts for the moment...

I'm reading Stranger in a Strange Land for a second time. Every now and then my mind would wander to one concept or another in that book, so I thought I would refresh my memory on what exactly I am thinking about. It keeps my attention better than most books I have read recently. I find myself actually wanting to read instead of randomly floating around the internet.

For breakfast I had an Aunt Jemima Frozen Breakfast- Specifically Scrambled Eggs and Bacon. It takes 2 minutes to prepare in the microwave or 20-25 minutes in your conventional oven. (Not to be cooked in a Toaster Oven.) If I had 20-25 minutes and a conventional oven available to me at work I wouldn't be heating frozen eggs.

I caught a little bit of the State of the Union tonight during the commercials of Enterprise... umm.... I didn't actually hear much about the state of our union...

The only thing I'm watching so far this season is the Honey and Clover Drama... It's not quite the anime, but I'm still loving it. I seem to be gravitating more towards J-Drama than anime lately... could I be growing up!?
.. nah....

Save Journeyman! etc...

Perhaps some of you have heard of some of the cruel things our friends at NBC/Universal have been doing lately toits loyal SciFi fans. I think their streak started with SciFi channel dropping Stargate SG-1. That show was still going strong but they just decided they didn't want another season. Next grabbed up quite a few promising shows and then happened to forget to give them a "back nine" part of their season.

But the fans are finding a voice!!! Fans of my favorite item of 2007, The Dresden Files are encouraged to mail a drumstick (which he used as a magic wand in the TV series) or just write a letter... apparently some of the addresses lists are no longer accepting drumstick shaped packages.

But here's the big one of the moment:
Checkout Journeyman on NBC.com!!! Even if you didn't watch it in the first run, give this show a chance!! The episodes hosted on NBC.com are amazing quality for being flash video.
Each week Fans of Journeyman are going to tune in to the next consecutive episode of the show on Mondays at 10pm EST (7pm PST). This started last week so we're on ep 2, but if your new to the show, catch up when you can and just watch ep 3 at the proper time next week. We're sending NBC a message about how many people really love this show.

Other shows that I will miss but have been cancelled by NBC/Universal without too much of a rucus as of yet: Bionic Woman and The 4400

Of course, I don't see any good emirging from this until after this writer's strike is concluded.

In other news: I just paid almost $500 to get my radiator replaced. This car had better last me a while.

AX Manager Retreat

Wheee. I'm posting on Mike's laptop using the free wireless in the lobby of our hotel. The AX manager retreat has been decent so far. We had a leadership speaker that was pretty interesting and informative.

Hmm... to lazy to check when I last posted.. probably before Xmas... The Xmas loot wasn't very impressive.. but I got myself some decent presents at the after Xmas sales... Heros season 1 and Dresden files... Mike got Firefly so I'm finally seeing that...

oops.. gtg... they've brought out the games from the tabletop gaming department... yay! Apples to Apples!

Xmas and stuff....

Geez.. Where'd the month go? Xmas is like.. a week and a half away... I haven't even done most of my shoppng. I think I'll be content if I can get everyone on my list something before the new year~

Abount 2 weeks ago, I made my first major trip on the freeway on my own to get to an AX staff meeting.... It wasn't really so scary... but I was pretty much in the same lane the whole way to Anaheim...

Tomorrow UCI's anime club is having a Karaoke night in Fountain Valley... still haven't decided if I'm going... I'm sure there are plenty of ways to get lost even if I am just following the 405 for most of the trip....

My parents computer had a sudden and crippling death last week.. so they have a shiney new Vista computer now. It is beyond me how anyone can do anything productive with that thing.. I was happy to even sucessfully integrate it with my home network....

Battlestar Galactic - Razor - Advanced Screening

We registered a few weeks ago... One little form and you're in. Free ticket, sponsored by Microsoft~
Robert picked me up after work and headed out to Huntington Beach. The freeway was surprisingly uncrowded.

We got to the theater... also surprisingly uncrowded... We were asked to bring a printout of our confirmation email and an ID... and then they checked out names on a list. 2 of those things would have made sense.. but all 3 made it kind of redundant. They then gave me a ticket and marked my hand with a sharpie... Again.. 1 thing made sense... 2 was redundant...

We sat in the theater and stared at this for about an hour:

There were at least 4 people playing with their NDS while we waited.... which isn't relevant to anything... just thought it was neat~ One girl was wearing her "Frak Me" shirt.

Promptly at 7pm the Microsoft Mass Effect and Zune ads started.... it wasn't too much.. but i must say that the Zune ad didn't really give me any reason to buy a Zune.
The movie was pretty cool... except the video tended to get out of sync with the sound a bit...
Halfway through the movie they played another Mass Effect and Zune commercial... I'm not complaining... it was a free ticket after all.... The movie will be on TV in 2 weeks so there are plenty of stopping points for the commercials.
The audiance was ok... Not quite as excited as they could be... but that's better than being too loud, I suppose.

I was hoping I was attanding an event instead of just a screening but there was a dissappointing lack of promotional swag.
Still, good movie, fun night...
After the credits they did a teaser for the upcoming final season... which didn't really add anything to what we already expected until the last line...
